A few weeks ago I made this coconut scented soap. The picture above is just after cutting it. I love the smell of coconut and I can add an amount of fragrance to a batch of soap that is not gaggingly sweet or overpowering. The thing about coconut fragrances is that it contains vanilla, a wonderful warm homey scent. BUT, it darkens soap. There are a few things you can do if you don’t like this effect. Adding clay or titanium dioxide will significantly reduce the browning effect of the vanilla. But the soap is lovely either way. Below is a pic of the same soap about 3 weeks after cutting.
